+J Spring/Summer 2010 collection
The season introduces fresh perspectives on volume, teamed with perfect harmony in fibre, colour, optics, and touch. Experimentation is essential, but subtle, leading to new interplays of material and motion.

Iconic Simplicity
Leaving sporty stereotypes behind, +J endorses functional elegance, dynamic textiles, and distinctive shapes. Softly articulated, silhouettes give free reign to movement and ease. Fabrics are straightforward, expertly woven, alluringly sculptured, neat and subtle. Initiating marriages of convenience between structure and fluidity, delicacy and determination, coupling strong characters for the common good.

Natural Nobility
The collection quietly bridges the emotional and the formal, femininity and masculinity, experience and evolution. Luxury lies in inspiration and discreet perfectionism, applied to truly modern tailoring. Environmental concerns move to the heart of research, engaging in clothing that is both responsible and innovative.

Clarity and Lightness
Opting for the precision of airy colours, white and pure ivory feature as the radiant centre of energy and confidence.
Heattech is back - UNIQLO'S secret weapon against the big chill

UNIQLO’s Heat Tech the perfect way to fight the cold and beat the big freeze is back and bolder than ever for Autumn Winter 2009.
Hailed as Japan’s Winter wardrobe essential with an estimated one in three Japanese residents owning a Heat Tech garment and now over 36 million pieces sold since its launch in 2006, UNIQLO’s Heat Tech is now a firm favourite in the UK following the phenomenal sell-out success of the collection last year.
Designed to be worn either on its own or as a layering piece, the UNIQLO Heat Tech collection is available in ten styles and a variety of neutral colours. Updated for 2009 in neon brights and camouflage prints for men, and on-trend raspberry, plum, citrus green and bright turquoises for women. The collection features a selection of styles for women, including new camisoles and tank tops with built in cups for added support, as well as long and short sleeve t-shirts, tights and leggings to ensure that all-over ‘Ready-Brek’ glow throughout the Winter months! For men this year we introduce the ever trusty Heat Tech long john in two lengths, a firm UK favourite and perfect for any Winter sporting activity! The waffle texture t-shirt is a another welcome addition to the existing ever-popular line up of men’s crew, v-neck and polo-neck long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts, adding a new layering dimension to Winter dressing.
How Does It Work?
UNIQLO developed Heat Tech in conjunction with leader fibre developer Toray Industries to create the perfect layering garment that retains all the body’s natural heat.
• HEAT GENERATING - The highly absorbent rayon mix fabric absorbs the moisture generated by the body and converts it into heat.
• HEAT RETAINING – Tiny pockets of air are trapped between each fibre, making it hard for the generated heat to escape.
• STRETCHABLE - The soft stretchy fabric moves with the body and creates a snug fit, making it the perfect outerwear or innerwear layering item.
• MOISTURE RETAINING (women’s only) - Milk protein containing natural amino acids has been mixed with the fibres ensuring the fabric is smooth and soft to touch.
• ANTIBACTERIAL (men’s only) – Antibacterial agents have been woven into the fibres to help keep the fabric fresh.
Priced from £6.99 and available in store and nationwide online at www.uniqlo.co.uk from October 2009

UNIQLO LAUNCHES MENSWEAR PREMIUM DENIM COLLECTION

With an emphasis on contemporary design and high quality, UNIQLO have taken their denim collections one step further by collaborating with celebrated denim craftsman Kaihara to create a new Japanese Premium Denim menswear jeans collection, launching in spring 2009.

A hundred years ago, Kaihara specialised in traditional Japanese kimono indigo dying and over the years became renowned master craftsman. Recognising the growing popularity of denim, in 1970 Kaihara diversified into denim production in the most autonomous way; by producing everything from the yarn, through to the weaving of the fabric and the finished product. As a result of their unrivalled quality control, the company have since become the largest and most trusted denim producer in the world, manufacturing what some consider as the highest quality denim in the world.

Following this successful approach, the UNIQLO Japanese Premium Denim collection not only harks back to the brand’s heritage and boasts 100% production within Japan, but also features the unique detailing of Selvedge denim jeans made using traditional antique looms, adding to the integrity and heritage of this inimitable product.

UNIQLO’s Japanese Premium Denim menswear collection provides the ultimate capsule wardrobe denim for spring 2009. Stitched by skilled workers using carefully selected raw cotton to achieve a lived-in look, the pre-washed fabric enhances the absorption of colour and lends a clean line to the cut of the jeans. Available in two fits; Slim Fit Jeans, available in blue, black and indigo, and Regular Fit Jeans, available in two washes; black and indigo, both are priced competitively at £49.99.

Complemented by key pieces in the new menswear tailoring range and an explosion of colour in the UNIQLO casualwear collections, the UNIQLO Japanese Premium Denim collection provides high quality jeans that will be available from early-March in the new UNIQLO menswear concession, opening 23 February in Selfridges, London.
Launched in 2006, UNIQLO's Heat Tech has already become a winter wardrobe essential in Japan, with 36million units having been sold since its launch and an estimated one in every three Japanese residents now owning a UNIQLO Heat Tech garment.

Sheer yet snug, providing added winter warmth when layered comfortably underneath a shirt and sweater or cardigan, the uniquely developed UNIQLO Heat Tech fabric includes a rayon mix that actually absorbs the moisture generated by the body and converts it into heat. Milk protein, containing natural amino acids, has been mixed with the fibres to ensure the fabric is smooth and soft to the touch; making it not only a heat retaining item, but also the perfect layering garment.

UNIQLO's Heat Tech innerwear will be available in UNIQLO stores and online at www.uniqlo.co.uk from mid-September and is available in seven styles and 18 colours for women, including camisoles, long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts, long sleeve polo-neck t-shirts, leggings, socks and tights, and seven styles and 10 colours for men, including long sleeve and short sleeve crew and v-neck t-shirts, long sleeve polo-neck t-shirts, socks and long johns. Priced from £7.99, these are winter essentials not to be missed.

Each UNIQLO Style Council collection will be recreated and uniquely merchandised both in-store at UNIQLO'S London Flagship store at 311 Oxford Street, London and online at UNIQLO's ecommerce website www.uniqlo.co.uk, from 29 September until 29 October 2008.

Meet the autumn 2008 UNIQLO Style Council:

Stefan Lindemann, Shopping Editor, Grazia Magazine

"UNIQLO has great mix of extremely affordable on-trend and of-the-moment fashion pieces in an amazing colour palette. When all mixed up and styled to your own personal taste, these items give you an endless variety of outfits that can be worn again and again and never look the same. I'm especially in love with this season's cashmere jumpers, jeans and down jackets - definitely a must have in everybody's winter wardrobe.”

Catherine Hayward, Fashion Director, Esquire Magazine

“With some powerful, in-your-face ad campaigns and a vast range of denim and knitwear, UNIQLO has transformed high street shopping. Scenesters no longer need to trawl for hours or break the bank to find dynamic design on their doorstep. Team Esquire love this brand!”

GianLuca Longo, Style Director, ES Magazine

"UNIQLO is unique: the right colours for your cashmere, the perfect fits for your jeans, and plenty of stripes! It makes fashion a lot of fun and in budget..."

Anne-Marie Curtis, Fashion Director, ELLE Magazine

“As well as producing fantastic quality basics with a hip edge and a great eye for detail, what I love most about UNIQLO is that you can take the pieces, add your own personal stamp and really make them your own. Wearing it your way and creating your own personal style is a huge part of the ELLE philosophy, so I was thrilled to be asked to be part of this project. This season I’ll be buying the cashmere jumpers in every colour and the skinny cords”
