UNIQLO Launches New Collection of High-Function LifeWear for Seamless Use Across Casual and Active Settings

Latest fruit of UNIQLO’s SPRZ NY collaboration, a global project bringing clothes and art together

UNIQLO will begin rolling out its SPRZ NY collaborated line from Monday, April 2 at all stores and online at www.uniqlo.com.sg, with selected items available exclusively at UNIQLO Orchard Central (Global Flagship Store). A natural fit with UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy of comfortable everyday clothing for diverse lifestyles, the new range blends highly functional items with authentic motifs from the world of art and pop culture.

The new lineup will include DRY-EX T-shirts, AIRism leggings, a sports bra, pocketable parkas, and other lightweight items made from advanced fibre technologies that breathe and quickly wick away moisture. All items in the range are designed for human movement, fully responsive to the wearer, including people with vigorous activity in their daily routines. The range comprises 20 items for women, 25 for men and 6 for kids.

This collection is the fruit of a collaboration with SPRZ NY (Surprise New York), a global UNIQLO concept project created to emphasise the intersection of clothing and art. Special pieces in the new collection showcase the art of a number of influential and internationally-renowned masters, including Francois Morellet, Niko Luoma and the Experimental Jetset studio. Collection designs celebrate motifs of motion, while evoking the positive emotional energy that comes from exercise and the elation and colour of activity in the great outdoors.

Collaboration with SPRZ NY

In March 2014, UNIQLO unveiled SPRZ NY (Surprise New York), a global project through which it releases items featuring designs inspired by the collection of modern and contemporary works at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. UNIQLO remodelled the second floor of its Fifth Avenue Global Flagship Store for the project, re-opening the area as the SPRZ Store, billed as a place where clothes and art meet. Numerous renowned artists have since taken part in the project, with their works gracing such diverse UNIQLO items such as T-shirts, polo shirts, pocketable parkas, bandanas, and tote bags.
