Survey Reveals 74% of Global Fashion Industry Insiders Wear UNIQLO Apparel

Sep., 2017, Singapore – A brand awareness survey that UNIQLO conducted with Japan's INFAS Publications, Inc., in Paris in March this year revealed that 353 of 480 respondents had worn UNIQLO apparel. The poll at major locations around the French capital during one of the world's biggest fashion events covered industry insiders, including writers and photographers, and others from the media.

The face-to-face poll, conducted from February 28 through March 6, 2017, demonstrated a diversity of tastes among professional categories:

• Support for Ultra Light Down was greatest among photographers (accounting for 13.8% of respondents favoring this line) and bloggers (12.1%). Key factors were reasonable pricing and quality, lightness and non-restrictiveness, and the ability to wear down vests under jackets.

• HEATTECH was particularly popular among photographers (13.1%) and fashion editors (10.1%), reflecting its winter fashionability, lightness, and comfort, with several mentioning that they had bought multiple items from this line.

• Cashmere was a winner among bloggers (12.3%), editors (8.8%), and buyers (7.0%) for its outstanding quality at this price and warmth and comfort, as well as for simplicity and minimalism, and for easy mixing and matching.

• Comfort, a simple and flattering design, and reasonable pricing underscored solid support for jeans among journalists and designers (10.9% each).
