UNIQLOOKS Singapore‘s Grand Prize Winners Announced

In an exciting night of style and fun the 20 UNIQLOOKS Finalists were showcased as they vied for the Top 10 spot during the UNIQLOOKS Grand Finals held on July 28, 2011 at Ion Sky.

,p>Selected guests and media members got a chance to take part in deciding who the UNIQLOOKS Top 10 Winners and ultimately the two-grand prize winners who won the top prize of an all-expense-paid three-nights stay for two, exclusive invite to UNIQLO’s 5th Avenue Global Flagship Store Opening Party, and the cover face of Catalog magazine.

Also present were the esteemed judges for the UNIQLOOKS competition including celebrity stylist Trey Wong, MTV VJ Holly, celebrity make-up artist Clarence Lee, artiste Felicia Chin, URBAN editor Tee Hun Ching and UNIQLO Singapore’s two managing directors of UNIQLO Singapore, Satoshi Onoguchi and Albert Chew.

Coming out on top were 27-year old Nick Chong and 22-year old Viona Wang as the two grand prize winners. Nick Chong pulled off a laid back and fun smart casual vibe with his ensemble of coat, long sleeve polo shirt, rep tie, rolled up plaid trousers and a Lego heart brooch. Co-winner Viona Wong made for a chic geeky look with a black-framed specs, linen long-sleeved shirt, studded bow tie, shorts and saddle shoes.

When asked how they felt being about winning Chong said “I’m over the moon and I can’t wait to go to New York. I still can’t believe I won”. While Wang said “I feel really excited and honoured to be chosen among so many people. I look forward to going to New York because it’s going to be an experience of a lifetime”.

These lucky winners received a $500 UNIQLO Voucher along with an inclusion in a 6-page fashion spread feature in Catalog magazine. The remaining 10 finalists who garnered 3rd place received a $150 voucher from UNIQLO.

Managing Director Satoshi Onoguchi said of UNIQLOOKS and the local competition “We are thrilled that through UNIQLOOKS we were able to showcase the different individual styles that people in Singapore have, not just locally but worldwide through an accessible online platform. It falls in line with our brand value of being able to provide pieces for people to create and express their style and further our brand philosophy of Made for All.”

UNIQLOOKS’ local contest for Singapore which began on June 17, 2011 was kick started by a Street Hunt in key locations, and came to an end on July 18, 2011. The global online platform garnered 410 participants from Singapore, the most number of entries worldwide. Without a doubt the UNIQLOOKS Grand Finals was a memorable night for contestants and guests alike.
