UNIQLO - Japan's No.1 Casual Wear Brand makes its mark at iconic ION Orchard

Hot off the heels of its Tampines 1 opening, the 2nd UNIQLO store is slated to open its doors in early August 2009 in the heart of Singapore's shopping district at ION Orchard. With approximately 10,000 square feet of floor space stocked with the latest UNIQLO fashions, the opening of the store in the iconic ION Orchard has been one of much anticipation due to its central location, and truly the store does not disappoint.

'As a global brand providing the best quality basics with unique value and innovations at affordable price, the opening of our 2nd store in the heart of Singapore will enhance our brand presence and accelarate our growth in Singapore' said Mr Satoshi Onoguchi, Managing Director of UNIQLO Singapore.

To celebrate the new store, customers who make purchases of $100 or more, on a single receipt, will receive a collectible UNIQLO original Tote Bag. The stylish shopping bags are offered as an opening special for a limited time only and while stocks last.

While the new UNIQLO store will still offer wide product variety, and quality at an affordable price point, the store design will be distinctively different from the first store. The new store is a duplex stocked with a wide range of UNIQLO products catering to all ages - Men, Women and Children. Its interior takes on a more edgy and cosmopolitan feel. One of the unique features of this store is the designated UT corner that will display UNIQLO's latest signature T-Shirt designs from floor to ceiling.

Fall/Winter 2009
UNIQLO will also be marking the change of season in conjunction with their new store opening. Singapore will be launching selected Fall/Winter 2009 items ahead of Japan. UNIQLO's Fall/Winter 2009 collection will feature the much anticipated Merino Wool collection using the finest Merino wool, Neo Leather, a collection of luxury synthetic leather jackets, 3D-Denim and Flannel range of clothing.

Another new and exciting design innovation to hit Singapore includes the popular HeatTech range which has sold 28 million units in Japan alone last year, HeatTech is woven out of a specially designed hollow fibre thread that captures little pillows of toasty warm air, insulating your body in the same way heavier wool would. This will keep you warm and snug without adding on that bulk and weight that is not figure-flattering. With these new product ranges out in stores soon, customers can look forward to quality, luxury at an affordable price at UNIQLO.

In anticipation of the heavy visitor traffic during the initial opening periods, control measures are underway to facilitate a pleasant shopping experience with minimal waiting time. As a brand that strives to ensure customer service and satisfaction, UNIQLO apologises for any inconvinience that may arise dcuring high traffic periods and seeks the understanding of all supporters of UNIQLO who want to visit the store.
