UNIQLO Contributes to Society by Opening the First UNIQLO Classroom Building

Unlocking the Power of Clothing in Legazpi, Albay

February 07, 2019, Legazpi, Philippines – UNIQLO, Japanese global apparel retailer, opens the first UNIQLO Classroom in Legazpi, Albay on February 07, as part of the brand’s sustainability efforts to support the development and growth of the kindergarten students of Gogon Central School.

As part of the brand’s efforts to enrich the lives of Filipinos, UNIQLO has partnered with the AGAPP (Aklat, Gabay, Aruga, Tungo sa Pag-Angat at Pag-Asa) Foundation to launch the country’s first UNIQLO classroom. Together with AGAPP’s Silid Pangarap program, the UNIQLO classroom is part of the brand’s sustainability initiative aimed at helping local communities that are in need.

“Through our sustainability efforts, UNIQLO’s commitment to the community extends beyond our stores and into various communities across the Philippines,” shares Geraldine Sia, UNIQLO Philippines, Co-COO. “We are honored to open the first UNIQLO classroom and look forward to bringing better comfort to the lives of the students here in Legazpi, Albay through public education.”

Located in Barangay 38, Legazpi City, Albay, the two-classroom building will serve as a pre-school classroom for the Gogon Central School. With the help of Silid Pangarap, the new classroom will help to comfortably accommodate the school’s growing kindergarten population.
