UNIQLO Pledges PhP 1-Million Cash Donation and Clothing Assistance to Yolanda Victims

November 12 2013, Manila, Philippines – Global clothing brand UNIQLO of Fast Retailing Philippines Inc. announced today that it is donating PhP 1-million and 5,000 pieces of clothing to relief efforts for areas devastated by typhoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan).

The cash donation and clothing assistance from the global apparel retailer will go toward helping more than 2.1 million families affected in 41 provinces in need of provisions for emergency, shelter, food, water, support and other essential services.

“UNIQLO is deeply concerned by the devastating impact of the typhoon,” said Katsumi Kubota, chief operating officer of Fast Retailing Philippines Inc. “We are committed to supporting people in great need and leveraging the company’s resources and clothing to lead them on the path to recovery.”
