Natural wool contains approximately 60% air, giving it outstanding thermal insulation properties somewhat like a natural air conditioner- warm in winter, cool in summer. Easily absorbing then eliminating perspiration and moisture, wool is also kind to the global environment, a biodegradable material that eventually returns to the earth. Due to the high price of wool, the availability of 100% woolen knits had declined, but this year UNIQLO has again insisted on 100% wool for our knits.
Wide and deep V-necks beautifully displaying the collarbone and base of the neck; waistline shaping showing off feminine curves, and waistslimming rib length; in particular, we have refashioned the sweater length so as to conceal the stomach. Born from countless fittings, the ultimate silhouette brings out an elegant, sophisticated beauty.
Like in hand knitting, body-length knitting is a method in which the shape of an item is carefully crafted as the number of stitches are increased or decreased in accordance with the body or sleeve shape. This method can only be used in a few places in low-priced knits, but ensuring that all the parts of an item are shaped properly creates a natural fit and a three-dimensional silhouette.
While continuing to maintain our high quality-using carefully selected Merino wool and our meticulous production process, focusing on the creation of a beautiful silhouette, and providing rich color variation-this season UNIQLO has been able to offer these knits at startlingly low prices. Please select a range of different colors to thoroughly enjoy coordinating your daily outfits.
Have you ever had the experience of the cuffs and hems of lightweight knits stretching sloppily after being worn a few times? UNIQLO has resolved this problem by inserting stretch cotton into a section of just 5 mm of the ribbed part of cuffs.
Merino wool, which comes from Merino sheep, is known to be amongst the best wool there is. Merino wool fibers are very fine (usually under 23 microns), and it is said that the finer the wool fibers, the greater the wool's rarity and quality. Wool that is especially fine, even amongst Merino wool, is called extra-fine Merino; it is used in high-class gentlemen's clothing and high-quality coats. UNIQLO knits are crafted using extra-fine Merino wool with 19.5-micron ultra-fine fibers. The fineness of this wool creates a soft texture and is comfortable to the touch. It can also be used for layering and is adaptable to both warm and cold weather, making it an excellent choice for "warm biz" items.
The smooth feel to the touch as well as the beautiful colors of these knits can be achieved by a technique called top-dyed dyeing (ingraining) in which the raw wool is dyed before being spun into yarn. UNIQLO presents a total of 18 colors, ranging from autumn/winter trend colors such as mustard, orange, and sage to classic hues such as grey and brown. Combining bright colors and wearability, this coloring enables customers to savor the pleasure of choosing.
